How This Calculator Works

LabCalc focuses on clear lab-ready math. Pick a reagent to auto-fill formula and molar mass, or switch to Custom Reagent and enter a formula directly. Every calculator updates immediately as you edit inputs.

Worked Examples

Molarity (mass-based)

Prepare 1 L of 0.5 M NaCl. Result shows required mass after selecting NaCl.

Steps: moles = M × L; mass = moles × molar mass.

Dilution

Make 100 mL of 1 M from a 10 M stock. Enter C1, C2, V2 and solve for V1.

Recipe output: take V1, add solvent to V2.

Concentrated acid/base

Convert wt% and density to molarity for common acids and bases.

Formula: M = (density × 1000 × wtFraction) / molar mass.

Unit conversions

Switch between M, g/L, mg/mL, and %w/v with auto-scaling of tiny volumes.

Auto-scale keeps values readable.

Safety and Accuracy

This is a calculation aid. Always verify safety data, compatibility, and procedures before laboratory use. Cross-check results with institutional protocols and ensure correct units.

FAQ

Where does reagent data come from?

Local seed data plus PubChem lookups cached via Cloud Functions. No scraping of commercial catalogs.

What if PubChem is unavailable?

The app still works with local seed data and custom formulas.

Does this store my experiments?

No. The app only stores cached PubChem entries in Firestore for faster lookup.
